TASA PHOTOGRAPHIC PROSESSES SURVEY 2008/09

TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS OF ART
PHOTOGRAPHIC PROCESSES SURVEY 2008/09

Chair, TASA Academic Committee
Gary Q. Frields, Professor of Art, Stephen F. Austin State University,
Nacogdoches, Texas gfrields@sfasu.edu

The Texas Association of Schools of Art Academic Committee survey of member
institutions regarding the level at which photo processes (wet lab, digital, alternative) are
currently taught. This information should facilitate photography transfer courses
between institutions by charting Photo 1 and 2 classes as well as upper level photo
courses. Additionally, a part of this survey includes TASA members’ speculations as to
the future of Photography (digital/wet lab) and future planning in this field of study.
2008/2009

On behalf of the Texas Association Of Schools Of Art President, Cathie Tyler and Board
of Directors, I wish to thank all who assisted in forming this photographic curriculum
survey. The hope is that this research will assist in program planning as innovations in
technology are incorporated into visual arts education.

Gary Frields
Chair Academic Affairs Committee
