The Texas Tech University J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts in collaboration with the School of Art is accepting applications for two tenure-track or Assistant Professor of Practice faculty positions in the area of graphic design. This position seeks nationally or internationally prominent graphic designers with a commitment to helping to guide the graphic design program to national distinction and nurturing the next generation of graphic designers/educators/scholars enrolled in our BFA program. The successful candidates will begin service in this full-time position at the beginning of the 2019 fall semester.
Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding, where appropriate, and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: BFA in Graphic Design w/Master’s Degree in Graphic Design or a related field (such as Visual Communications or Interface Media), or equivalent professional experience. Record of professional activity and/or research that demonstrates emerging or established national recognition in the field of graphic design is paramount. Candidates will continue professional research that is relevant to the current and future practice of graphic design. There is the possibility of arranging a low residency situation for the desired candidate. Applicants should have a working knowledge of current practice and theory in interface media
related to usability and design with a vision towards future developments. A commitment to quality, student-centered education and working as a team member and a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to serving diverse student populations is a must.
